Driver / Coach Driver (Transport & Fleet Support)
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of personnel and goods in accordance with transport regulations and road traffic law, reporting to senior transport management.
Working a flexible Monday–Friday shift pattern (37 hours per week), providing transport support as required.
A large proportion of the role involves coach driving (Category D licence essential), transporting passengers to and from training areas, exercises, and various operational locations including local and national sites.
Key responsibilities:
- Safely transport passengers and materials using both coach and fleet vehicles in support of training activities
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, including first-use and end-of-shift inspections
- Refuel, clean, and ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition
- Record and report all vehicle defects or faults using the appropriate reporting system
- Communicate any operational issues or incidents to transport management promptly
- Follow breakdown procedures and ensure passenger safety in the event of vehicle failure
- Complete accident reporting procedures when required
- Support light vehicle maintenance and minor repairs when not on driving duties
- Assist with general workshop or depot duties as allocated by supervisory staff
Transport Duties Include:
- Movement of training personnel between bases and exercise locations
- Transport to training sites and educational or heritage visits across the UK
- Supporting scheduled training and operational transport requirements
